Facelift Surgery

A facelift is an operation during which the loose muscles of the face and neck are tightened, the skin is re-draped, and the excess skin is removed in order to improve the contour of the face. This procedure results in a rejuvenated and younger appearance.

Various factors will be assessed to decide whether you are a candidate for surgery:

  • The thickness, texture, and elasticity of your skin
  • Severity of wrinkles and folds
  • Hairline will be examined to determine where incisions can be discreetly placed
  • Bone structure and underlying tissue

One thing to remember is that it is not possible to remove all the folds of the skin or to eliminate all the wrinkles. Occasionally additional procedures may have to be done at the same time as the facelift, such as eyelid surgery, neck surgery, or fat fillers. However, these options will be discussed in full prior to the surgery.
